Shakira Piggott is Soul Code Creations, an emerging intuitive abstract artist and poet whose practice includes acrylic painting and poetry. Her work incorporates bright colour and language as expressive tools to explore emotion and energy. Influenced by artists such as Wassily Kandinsky, abstraction allows her to create beyond literal representation.
Shakira has participated in Group Art Shows (GAS SYD), ‘Omnifarious Creations’, ‘The Winter Show’, ‘Colour Burn’, Thirroul Arts Festival and C._ART_.el’s ‘Kicks ‘N Decks’ in NSW. Her painting Sacred Land was awarded runner-up in ZineWest 2024, and The Lands Above Us was featured in ZineWest 2025.
Extending her practice beyond traditional exhibition contexts, Shakira has produced screenprinted tote bags, alongside prints, tea towels, and gift cards, translating her art into accessible, functional formats.
Outside of the studio, she has created Print & Paint Parties, delivering screenprinting and painting parties for children, bringing creativity and hands-on art experiences to the community.
A proud WestWords alumni, Shakira has served as a judge for Living Stories: Over the Line…? Anthologies in 2024 and 2025, the Blacktown Mayoral Writing Prize 2024, and the Fisher’s Ghost Writing Prize 2025. Her poem “Lavender” received a Special Mention Certificate in the 2020 WB Yeats Poetry Prize, and she is currently working on her debut poetry collection.
Alongside her artistic practice, she is a TV/ music TV production manager, live art events producer, and a WestWords alumni, contributing a strong professional and collaborative framework to her work. She has recently moved to the South West of Western Australia.
